Dubai, the first night.

So we reached Dubai to join the rest (who had reached 4 hours earlier) after what seemed like an eternity of flying and waiting.

And the temperature that night was... 35 degrees Celcius. Yes, you read correctly, 35.

We were chauffered in a f*cking huge SUV, lemme rephrase that, we were picked up from the airport by a f*cking huge tank. When we reached our hotel, Majestic Towers Hotel, the plan was to rest in our hotel rooms and wake up early for the next day BUT the rest of the guys who had reached Dubai first wanted to have a walk from our hotel (which was in Bur Dubai) to the creek (which was further than it seemed on the map!). And the four of us decided to follow suit (big mistake!).

After more than half an hour of getting lost and 5 kg of perspiration later, we reached the Creek.
The tutor who brought us there, Erik (he also happened to be my tutor in year 2):
The night bazaar: While some decided to walk back to the hotel to call it a (HOT, F*CKING HOT) night, some of us decided to trek a bit more along the creek to Al Shindagha, a historic city centre where the ruler used to live till the 50s.
The Saaed Al Maktoum (former ruler of Dubai) House which has now been converted into a museum:
The Diving Museum is one of many museums in that area. Dubai's rich historical past includes pearl diving, boating (see the mast behind) and fishing:
The 6 who braved the summer night heat...
